WOW WHOA I HAVEN’T DONE A PROPER UPDATE IN A LONG TIME!! I’ve been slowly getting back into tezuka stuff, but here are some status updates:

• Video streaming and subtitling site Viki is now hosting a whole mess of Tezuka work, including a bunch of Black Jack series, Jungle Emperor Leo (the 1997 film), Fumoon, Pictures at an Exhibition, Marine Express and many many more! If you’d like a good list of all of them, user Effman is a great resource. 
• Vertical is going to publish Tezuka’s classic WWII drama Adolf ni Tsugu in the States next year, with a new translation and cover art. If you missed out on the Viz edition while it was in print (back in the 90s), keep an eye out!
• Princess Knight volumes 1 and 2 are out, and have been for a few months. Same with Book of Human Insects; I haven’t managed to get too deep into Princess Knight yet, but I devoured Book of Human Insects and I might have some thoughts to write up about those later.
• Remember when Shogakukan released all those Osamu Tezuka notebooks? Well, unsurprisingly, THERE’S MORE. The notebooks are a really incredible resource if you’re interested in his creation process, so keep an eye out! (University libraries might have copies; I borrowed some of the first few notebooks from the University of Maryland system.)
• Apparently the Unico movies came out on DVD?! I saw one of them and it was marvelous so I want to pick these up. 
• Also, this happened a while back, but I contributed a Hamegg page to Tezuka in English if anyone is interested.
